CONGRATULATIONS to the Tenby Dolphins who qualified to swim at The West Wales Regional LC championships 2026 at Swansea National Pool last weekend.
The Tenby Dolphins who swam were: Lottie Dashfield, Phoebe Davies, Isla Griffiths, Brooke Hope, Zoe Jewell, Hazel Monan, Mia Prosser and Lucian Treinis.
It was a first-time Regional championship for Lottie, Mia and Zoe and first time in a 50m pool for them as well as Phoebe and Brooke.
All swam their socks off and should be incredibly proud of their performances. Many of them gained Personal Bests. Special mention goes to Lucian who swam five races and PB’d in them all; also Hazel Monan who had four PBs, two of which gained over 10 seconds on previous PBs! Well done, everyone for superb swimming!
Then there was a very exciting 4x100 free girls 11-12 relay! All swam super fast but were just pipped out of the medals and came an incredible 4th place.
Well done to the Relay Team: Brooke Hope, Lottie Dashfield, Phoebe Davies and Hazel Monan.
Older Dolphins were also competing under Pembrokeshire County Swimming, several of them gaining medals: Bronwyn (bronze), Elizabeth C (bronze), Olivia (gold), Liz D (two gold, four silver and six bronze medals!), Ffion G (one silver, one bronze); also competing were Jess, Kathryn, Euan, Ffion M and Skye.
Tenby and District Swimming Club extends its thanks to its parent volunteers who gave up their time at the event to ensure the children could participate: Emily Dashfield - Official; Bronwyn Clissold- Official; Lucy Clissold - Volunteer & Marshall; Teresa Griffiths - Poolside Coach; Elizabeth Clissold - Entry secretary and communications; Mathew Clissold / Clare Gottwaltz- Accounts; Alison Morris - Welfare Officer.
More volunteers are needed to help at club to keep swimmers swimming and competing at events like these.
Now it’s heads back down in the pool, ready for the next gala!
