Narberth came from behind to secure a close fought away win at Hundleton as The Bluebirds triumphed 2-1.
The home side went ahead after 20 minutes as the visitors were still coming to terms with having to shuffle their team around after Richie Adams turned up late and, despite an equaliser by Jordan Williams, it's fair to say the first half was not Narberth's best display of the season.
That said, they improved after the interval as Adams finally made his mark on the game by putting Ashley Williams through and he unleashed a 25-yard effort that sailed into the back of the net to secure a thrilling winner.
On a small, uneven pitch playing football was never going to be easy for Peter Fearne's men, yet club spokesman Steve Jones said the win proves the team has character.
"We were deserved winners in the end, especially considering our second half performance, but the first half was pretty poor by our standards. It was a tough game in tough conditions, but we battled out the win and our aim now is to finish the last five games unbeaten."
Kilgetty could do with going on an unbeaten run as they lost away at St. Ishmaels despite being 3-1 up at one stage. The home side pulled one back to make it 3-2 minutes before the interval, but despite taking an advantage into the second half, the wheels fell off and the home side ran riot.
In fairness to the Kingsmoor outfit, they could be a little undercooked having not played for a few weeks, yet manager Allen Hurst was at a loss to understand how the home side turned it around so much in the second half.
"I don't know what happened because in the first half we competed well. For some reason we seemed to take the foot off the pedal and allowed our heads to drop.
"If we can take some positives out of the game it's the fact we can compete against teams such as this and with a hard run in, we've got to try and produce that performance again to stop us from going down."
With Ross Hurst putting the visitors ahead early on and Tom Watkins and Josh Bevan both scoring before the break, it looked as though a shock victory over the division two pacesetters was possible, but after the oranges, Kilgetty's form deserted them and the home side took charge.
A couple of unforced errors cost Tenby away at Neyland. Mike Lewis's side played enough football to get the better of the game, with Jordan Richards outstanding throughout, but mistakes at crucial times allowed the home side to win 4-2.
Richards equalised for Tenby early in the first half after Neyland took the lead and the goal appeared to spur the visitors on as they were on top. However, a goal against the run of play put Neyland into the ascendancy once more.
Kieron Lewis equalised soon after, but a goal straight from kick-off allowed Neyland to take a 3-2 interval lead.
Tenby were more solid in the second half, but another goal by the home side ensured they took the points.
"We played well actually," said a disappointed Mike Lewis. "However, a couple of errors cost us and unfortunately it was just one of those days."
James Buckle's decision to return to Carew has proved beneficial for all concerned. Since his shift from Lawrenny a month ago, he's scored in every game and his brace on Saturday helped Barry Evans's side stay in the mix for a promotion spot, although they would have to rely on teams ahead of them slipping up if they were to do so.
They beat Camrose 5-2 away from home, with Haydn Shapcott, Sam Goodwin and James Hinchliffe scoring the other goals.
It was 1-1 at the break, with the other six goals coming in a 10-minute period in the second half. Barry Evans said it was a comfortable win.
"We could have won by more really. Camrose played well, but we created enough chances to make it more comfortable, although the result was never in doubt."
Saundersfoot Sports are still in second place in the division, although they dropped points away at Goodwick, losing 4-3.
Pendine's season is going from bad to worse as they lost yet again. If the defeat wasn't a total shock given their form this season, then the manner of the defeat would have been, as they went down 13-1 at Lawrenny.
Owen James was the star of the show as he finished with seven goals, while Brad Jenkins scored three. Tom Lewis, Matt Lewis and Rhys Jenkins were the other men to score.
Prior to their home clash with Haverfordwest Cricket Club, Narberth seconds would have known that another win would have kept them in the mix for a promotion push, yet inexplicably they lost 5-0.
It was their first defeat in 10 games and manager Adrian Howells said there were no excuses to give for it.
"We didn't turn up, that's all I can say. I don't know why we played so badly. It was a disappointing result for us, but we can still finish third if results go our way."
If they are to finish third, one team they will have to beat is St. Clears, who kept their unbeaten run going to win 6-0 at home to Clarbeston Road.
It was 0-0 for the first 20 minutes, but once Owain Evans scored, the home side took control.
Eddie Wiggins added the second to make it 2-0 at the break, but with further goals by Ian Derbyshire, Dorian Davies and two from super sub Steve Thomas, the result was never going to be in doubt.
"It was very tight to start with," said manager Craig Weston. "They started well and put us under pressure, but we settled down when the first went in and deserved to win in the end."
Carew seconds lost for the second week in succession as they went down 2-0 at home to St. Ishmaels, while Saundersfoot Sports' reserves won again following a 4-2 win at home over Milford United, with Jamie Morgan, Grant Hardy, Luke Brolam all finding the back of the net.
Manorbier United lost 6-3 against Fishguard Sports, despite Mike Brown's brace and Austin John's effort, while Lawrenny seconds narrowly lost out against Pembroke Boro as they went down 5-4 as Jim Mills and Mike Miles both scored.
Kilgetty's drainage problems put paid to their second team clash against Neyland going ahead, while St. Clears' seconds didn't have a scheduled game.
