A CHARITY golf tournament for Blood Bikes Wales takes place on Friday, September 4 at Milford Haven Golf Club.
The 18 hole Texas scramble offer prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd, longest drive and closest the pin.
Organiser Peter Kraus is looking for 20 teams of four to enter this competition.
He is also looking for raffle prizes to help boost the total - with the aim of raising £2,000 on the day.
Despite the name, it isn’t only blood that a blood bike charity transports, and it isn’t only transported by motorcycle.
Depending on the needs of the healthcare organisations they support, Blood Bike volunteers can transport blood and blood products, pathology and laboratory samples, medication, donated human milk, medical equipment and supplies, and other items needed by healthcare services.
Motorcycles are an important part of what they do, but cars and other vehicles also play a vital role - particularly where the load, conditions or journey make them the more appropriate choice.
Whatever the vehicle, the principle remains the same: providing a professional, reliable volunteer transport service in support of healthcare.
“This is such a vital life saving service for our community,” says Peter, who can be contacted on 07900 324287 or by email: [email protected] .
