THERE was a lovely twist to this year’s Ladies Club Championship at Tenby Golf Club.

Last year, Vice Captain Louise Hill, Alison Daniel and Linda Tordoff-Evans donated trophies to help launch the competition. Twelve months later, all three found themselves among the winners!

Over two glorious days of sunshine and 36 holes of championship golf, Alison Daniel claimed the Silver Division gross title with rounds of 81 and 90, with Linda Tordoff-Evans runner-up.

Captain Helen Hughes, who also kept everything running across the two days, won the Silver net trophy after finishing with a superb 67, ahead of Heather Morgan.

In the Bronze Division, Louise Hill took the gross title, while Sarah Waring won the net after an excellent final-round 66.

Conditions certainly kept everyone thinking. The links were fast and fiery, with plenty of big bounces and a few bunkers causing trouble along the way.

There was another reason to celebrate too, with Wendy Allen marking a significant birthday… one with a ‘0’ in it!

Organisers thanked greens staff for presenting the course in fabulous condition, Irene Gilman for looking after the cards and play order, Wyndham Collins for starting duties on day two, and Dan and the 19th Hole team for the very welcome sandwiches and fries afterwards.

Sunshine, some great golf and plenty to celebrate, a brilliant two days at Tenby.
