Cyclists from across Pembrokeshire took on the challenge of this year's Paul Sartori Bike It 100, raising an impressive £7,502.01 in support of Paul Sartori Hospice at Home.

The popular cycle sportive which this year took place on Sunday, July 26, saw participants test themselves across 50, 75 and 100-mile routes, enjoying Pembrokeshire's stunning scenery while raising vital funds for local families living with a life-limiting illness.

Riders of all abilities came together for a day filled with determination, camaraderie and community spirit.

Every mile completed, every burger eaten, and every pound raised will help Paul Sartori Hospice at Home continue providing its essential hospice-at-home services to patients and families throughout Pembrokeshire.

Rosie-Faye Hart, Community Fundraising Officer at Paul Sartori Hospice at Home, who spearheaded this year's event, said: "What an incredible day! The atmosphere from start to finish was amazing, and it was inspiring to see riders pushing themselves to complete the 50, 75 and 100-mile routes in support of Paul Sartori Hospice at Home.

“The event showcased the very best of Pembrokeshire's community spirit, with riders, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and supporters all coming together for a fantastic cause. We're thrilled that the event has raised £7,502.01 and would like to thank everyone involved for making this year's Bike It 100 such a fantastic success."

While there were countless personal achievements throughout the day, one of the biggest talking points came right at the finish line.

With the battle for the coveted Club with the Most Finishers title going right down to the wire, Tenby Aces and Narberth Dynamos were neck and neck as riders continued to arrive back.

After accidentally taking a wrong turn, adding extra miles to an already demanding 100-mile route, teammates, supporters and organisers were left waiting in anticipation as the final placings hung in the balance.

When the final Tenby Aces rider, Huw Jones, eventually crossed the finish line to a huge round of applause, it secured the finishing place the club needed to reclaim the title, bringing a dramatic and unforgettable conclusion to the day.

“Congratulations to Tenby Aces, and congratulations to every rider who crossed the finish line. Whether they completed 50, 75 or 100 miles, their determination and support for Paul Sartori Hospice at Home will make a real difference to local families when they need it most,” said a spokesperson for the charity.

Paul Sartori Hospice at Home would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of Bike It 100, including the riders, volunteers, sponsors and supporters who made the day so memorable.

The charity would also like to thank: On Yer Bike Ice Cream, Snipes Bay Meats, CJ Flow Wellness Sports Massage, Pembrokeshire Bouncy Castles, Pembrokeshire Military Vehicles, Pembroke Fire Station and Blood Bikes Wales, as well as the fantastic volunteers at Carew Cheriton Control Tower Museum, whose generosity, enthusiasm and support helped make the event such a success.

The charity looks forward to welcoming cyclists back next year for another fantastic Bike It 100 event and will release the 2027 date on their social media pages in the near future.
