THE community of Carew braved a wet winter’s night to join in a Lantern Walk and Christmas Show.
Organisers Carew Community Council were especially excited to welcome Gizmo, a professional children’s entertainer known for his incredible magic, juggling and balloon twisting, along with a visit from Father Christmas.
Following the free event, chairman Cllr Simon Hosker-Hicks said: “Father Christmas was thrilled to meet so many polite and excited children. He’s now heading back to the North Pole for a few more mince pies and to get ready for the big day!
“A big thank you to the WI ladies for providing such wonderful food; Gizmo for a fantastic show that kept everyone entertained;
“And a very special thank you to all of our hard-working volunteer community council members — not only for helping make tonight a success, but for everything you do all year round to keep our community beautiful and running smoothly.
“Finally, a heartfelt thank you to Steph — we truly couldn’t do it all without your dedication behind the scenes.”

Simon also issued an invitation to anyone in the catchment to get involved and join the Community Council, we’d love to hear from you! The council meets every second Wednesday of the month.
