NARBERTH and Whitland Rotary were delighted to support the Narberth Food Festival this weekend, as thousands of visitors came together to celebrate food, community and local businesses.
Rotary members volunteered their time throughout the weekend, assisting with the Park and Ride service and helping festival visitors get safely and conveniently to and from the event.
Alongside providing practical support, Rotary members also took the opportunity to raise funds for an important local cause — the Pembrokeshire Food Bank and managed to raise an impressive £630.
Festival-goers were invited to make donations, and the response from the public was extremely encouraging. Every contribution, no matter how large or small, will help the Food Bank continue to provide vital support to individuals and families in the local community who are experiencing food insecurity.
Adding to the generosity, Lloyd & Whyte Insurance Brokers have kindly agreed to match fund all donations collected by Rotary, helping to make the fundraising effort go even further.
The festival once again demonstrated the wonderful community spirit that exists in Narberth and the surrounding area. Rotary members were proud to be involved and to help support both the festival and the valuable work of the Pembrokeshire Food Bank.
“Narberth and Whitland Rotary would like to thank everyone who donated, volunteered their time, used the Park and Ride service and helped make the weekend such a tremendous success,” said Michelle Keens-Douglas, engagement officer. “A huge thank you to everyone who played a part in making it such a fantastic weekend!”
