GOSCAR 16 BRUNEL NEYLAND 27
This was the last game of the season for the Goscar rink, with Brunel already winners of the Meyrick Owen Shield. Goscar started off well, taking an early lead. However, after tea, the game went downhill for the Tenby side, with Brunel gaining a commanding lead to run out worthy winners. Goscar had a mixed season. They started off with two big losses, but after that won three games, drew two and lost four. This left them one from the bottom, but if they had managed an extra point on the drawn games, they would have finished up in mid-table. Captain Ray Hine would like to thank all the players who turned out for Goscar this year, particularly as they had only a small squad. Special thanks to the juniors, Cameron, Ben and Luke, who gained experience playing league games; also to Brian, Harry and Neil for their support. Texaco tournament
Although the season is rapidly drawing to a close, there are still a couple of weekends that everyone enjoys. The Texaco Tournament is one, a three-wood pairs game, which always attracts the 'big names' from 'up the line', which then ensures an extra 'edge' from the locals! With Wales opening their World Cup account on the Sunday, it should ensure 'Simo' is kept busy behind the bar."
JUNIOR NEWS
The Friday 'Youth Club' for our juniors will be starting on September 14, 7-9 pm. As always, Mums and Dads are invited along to watch them enjoy themselves. The Christmas party will be a fancy dress, for all - no excuses!
FIVE ARCHES
Captain Mike Gouldingay and his selectors have arranged the end of season 'do' for the Carew Inn. A list is on the noticeboard and you will be kept informed about transport. Last year, as in previous years, was a great 'get- together', as I'm sure this one will be. One thing's for certain, the food will be great and can't fault the beer either - well that's what DKT tells me! COMMITTEE
Like the MPs, the hierarchy of the club reconvene on Tuesday, September 11, at 7 pm, for some mind-blowing decisions and discussions!
