Tenby RNLI all-weather lifeboat the Haydn Miller was launched shortly before 12.30pm on Tuesday, October 27, following a request from Milford Haven Coastguard to assist with the medevac of a casualty with a broken leg at Blue Pool, at Llangennith, some 15 miles south-east of Tenby.

The volunteer crew made best speed to the area in rough seas left over from the remnants of Storm Boelo, but once on scene, it was obvious that they could be of no assistance due to the extremely low tide and massive breakers going into the beach.

With this in mind, the lifeboat was stood down to return to station, arriving at 2.10pm.

Also attending the incident, were members of Rhossili Coastguard Rescue team and a rescue helicopter from Newquay in Cornwall.
