Dyfed-Powys Police are highlighting Herbert Protocol, which helps locate missing people suffering with dementia or a similar condition that may leave them lost and confused and unable to find their way home.

The Herbert Protocol is a risk reduction tool to help police with their search. It is a form that carers, family or friends of a vulnerable person can fill in and contains a list of vital information police need if the person goes missing. This includes things like a photograph, medication needed, favourite places, old addresses and places they have previously been found.

Keeping a completed form saves time for police and allows the search to start sooner.
