They had already had to qualify earlier in in the year just to attend this event, as only those who had achieved the highest scores could enter.
Milly Bishop won the NDP 1 event and Jade Rees the NDP 3 event (age group 13 plus)
Only the top two from each section go through to make the Welsh team, which then progresses into British competition, competing at Nottingham later in June, but these top two also had to achieve a higher qualifying score and also pass a compulsory range and conditioning test.
The girls performed extremely well, performing to the best of their ability against the best from Wales. Jade’s final score was 51.65 and Milly’s was 54.2
The club did have 10 qualifiers who had obtained the required score, including three from West Wales, but only seven were able to make the day.
However, out of these, the club gained two second reserves, with Sophie Wilson and Caitlin Watkins, both who finished in fourth place, and a third reserve with Rebecca Skinner, so there is still hope that these girls may also later secure a spot.
Two others finished in the top ten of their groups.
Some places are currently available, and the club can be contacted on 07952584240.
