A GOOD evening race of dinghy racing in gusty conditions was held at Tenby Sailing Club on Tuesday. May 12.

Results: 1, Europe 444 Robin Wood; 2, RS 800 Steve and Jasmine Stubbs; 3, Contender 646 Steve Leach.

More racing was held on Saturday. A damp and cool day, but six crews were not put off.

They had great fun dealing with some chunky gusts.

Simon, Howard and Julian manned the RHIB and set a small course for the first race which was good for Ed and Lottie in the Feva, and for the singlehanders.

Broader reaches for the second race were more suitable for the Redwing and the Ospreys.

Race 1: 1, Osprey 1380, Dan and Matt; 2, RS Feva, Ed and Lottie; 3, Europe 444, Robin; 6, Osprey 1365, Maurice and Dave; 7, Redwing 228, Bill and Nan; 8, Contender 646, Steve. Equal 3rd points were earned by Howard and Julian as Race Officers.

Race 2: 1, Osprey 1380; 2, Osprey 1365; 3, Europe 444; 6, Contender 646; 7, Redwing 228.

The first of the redwing Class Races are scheduled to be held on Thursday, May 21.

Saturday’s scheduled cruiser racing was cancelled; The next scheduled race is on Sunday, May 24.

Tenby Regatta and Round Caldey races are set for the weekend of June 13/14.

Tenby Sailing Club is welcoming the RYA Welsh Dragon series on June 27/28 to encourage juniors to race. Details at https://www.tenbysailingclub.org.uk/junior-sailing. Fishguard is the venue on July 12.
