After reecently announcing he was leaving his role on Swansea City's coaching staff, Welsh footballing legend Joe Allen has been enjoying some time on the golf course in Tenby.

Allen who hails from Narberth, departed Swansea AFC as a player having announced his retirement last May, only to return alongside fellow club legend Leon Britton to support new head coach Vitor Matos in November 2025.

He started his career playing at Tenby AFC, up to age ten, before a club career that started and finished with boyhood club Swansea City.

Allen also spent four years at Liverpool and six years with Stoke City, and had a brief spell on loan at Wrexham as a teenager.

Tenby Golf Club shared on Friday, May 8: “Look who was out on the course today - none other than former Swansea City and Wales midfielder Joe Allen.

“Joe was enjoying a round at Tenby Golf Club with his father and was kind enough to stop for a chat and a few photos.

“We’re also delighted to say Joe is now a member, so we hope to be seeing plenty more of him on the links.

“A special thank you as well to Joe’s father, who commented on how good the course is looking. It's always lovely to hear and a real credit to the hard work of our greenkeeping team,” they added.

Swansea AFC head coach matos said: "Joey is a special person for all of us, not only for me but for the club.

"Our door is always open for when he wants to return and he knows that I wish him all the best. He's a legend of the club.”
