TENBY Sailing Club commodore Blake Shaw and treasurer Terry Evans were presented with the Tenby Observer’s Community Kindness Volunteer Award 2025 at the De Valence Pavilion on Friday, 3 October.
A large crane will be arriving in the early hours of Thursday, 9 October for the annual lift-out of boats on to the hard standing next to the sailing club.
Clear access will be needed down St Julian Street and Castle Square.
Dan Jackson reports on the Dinghy Racing: National Redwing Challenge Series: “Thanks to all who supported the class, with the club purchase of R244, which won the National Championships and the Summer Series.
“We had a great season with 11 races plus two new annual races around Caldey, and to Saundersfoot.
“The success of the 2025 Inland water Championship at Llys-y-Fran has sparked interest to return again next year for a weekend event as part of a Pembrokeshire Sunday Traveller series.
“Final placings for the Summer Series were: R244, R249, R241, R228, R190, R178.
“Robin Wood has had another good season, winning the Redwing Championship, and 3rd in the Europe Class Inlands in Northampton on 27/28 September.
“He competes again next weekend in the Tata Steel October Regatta.
“In Tenby, the Dinghy Frostbite series will be sailed on Sunday mornings at 11am from 12 October until the end of the year.”
A bangers and mash evening will be held at the clubhouse on 24 October in support of the RNLI where Cockles and Muscles will sing sea shanties.
Terry will be hosting the first quiz of the winter season on 25 October. 15th November is the Blues Festival, and the 21st is the TSC annual dinner and prize presentation at the Plas Hyfryd Hotel in Narberth with transport provided.
The AGM is on 29 November.
