DESPITE the poor visibility which prevented the Waverly from visiting Tenby Sailing Club, eight dinghies formed a combined fleet from Tenby and Saundersfoot to sail a three-lap race near Monkstone Point on Tuesday, 16 June.
Results: 1, ILCA7 211169 Dave Griffiths; 2, ILCA7 227953 Dave Plester; 3, Redwing 228 Bill Dowell & Peter Prosser; 4, ILCA7 169024 Kevin Upstill; 5, RS200 1294 Ben & Sophie; 6, Osprey 1380 Dan Jackson & Matt Goldwait; 7, RS200 Julian Cumpsty & Michelle James; 8, Contender 646 Steve Leach. Peter Randles and Steve Popple set the course and two safety boats ensured that no crews were in danger.
Redwings: Dan Jackson reports:
The TSC Redwing fleet finally got their first race of the 2026 season in on June 18th, when the weather gods finally relented and gave us a break supplying a lighter than forecast SSW force 2 building to a nice force 3 as we crossed the finish line.
Race officer Peter Randles set a three lap port triangle course in the surprisingly shifty conditions.
A late change in wind direction left the racers with a heavy pin end bias on the start line and port tack flyers were the theme of the day!

R244 got away well of the line and was never troubled for the lead, 228 and 249 enjoyed many place changes in their tussle around the course and 178 and 241 also enjoyed a battle royale.
The next races are on Thursday 25th June, and July 2nd before out trip to Looe for the nationals on July 4&5th
A big thank you to everyone for supporting the Redwing fleet - both on and off the water and especially for those that spent the winter sanding, varnishing and repairing our beautiful fleet.

The Annual Passage Race from Hobbs Point to Tenby has been postponed until July 4th.
