Tenby Girls Under 12s played in the Pembrokeshire Girls' League and West Wales Girls' League inaugural tournament recently held in Llanelli.

Tenby Girls' first game was against Llanybydder, which proved to be the toughest test. Deadlock was broken when Nieve Jenkins broke down the right-hand side to drive a low cross in front of the goal, which Flavia Jenkins turned into the net. It was to be the only goal as they held out for a 1-0 win.

The second game against Newcastle Emlyn saw the team display good passing moves and they quickly took a 4-0 lead with a hat-trick by Flavia Jenkins and a first goal for Hannah Davies. In the second half, they defended well as a spirited comeback by Emlyn saw them score a late consolation goal.

Next up were local rivals Narberth. Tenby ran out 3-0 winners, with Hannah bagging two goals and Daisy Lloyd adding the third.

In the remaining three games, strong defending from Thea and Eloise Jenkins kept the action at the other end of the pitch, Tenby eventually beating Dafen 2-0 (scorers Eloise Jenkins and Daisy Lloyd) and then winning by the same score against Mumbles, with the goals coming from Nieve and Hannah.

In their final game, they won 1-0 against Rhos, with Hannah scoring the winner.

This meant they were unbeaten on the day and they were awarded well-deserved medals for their performance.

Team: Nieve Jenkins, Flavia Jenkins, Eloise Jenkins, Thea Jenkins, Hannah Davies, Daisy Lloyd.

Thanks to Richard Jenkins for running the side.
