Whitland 18 pts. Llanharan 32
Whitland are still looking for their first win in the Swalec National Championship.
On Saturday, they again went down at home to Llanharan in a game where they had chances, but failed to take them, and some woeful tackling let the visitors in for too many points.
Whitland took the lead with a Scott Newton penalty after two minutes, before Llanharan's number 10 Codey Rees levelled two minutes later with a penalty of his own.
Newton added his second penalty after 14 minutes to restore Whitland's lead, but then some poor tackling allowed number eight Lewis Young to score the visitors' first try, which Rees converted, to make the score 10 points to six to Llanharan.
On the half-hour, Whitland number eight Llyr Griffiths got himself yellow-carded, but Llanharan failed to take advantage of their numerical advantage and the half-time score remained at 10 points to six to the visitors.
Llanharan increased their lead when centre Steve Roberts scored their second try shortly after the restart, with Rees again adding the extras with the conversion.
Whitland scored their first try of the afternoon when flanker Luke Owen gathered loose ball from a scrum and touched down, with Newton failing with the conversion.
At this point, it seemed that Whitland were coming back into the game, but once again some poor tackling let in outside-half Codey Rees for Llanharan's third try just five minutes later, which he converted himself to increase the lead to 24 points to 11.
Midway through the half, Llanharan got their bonus point try when scrum-half Tom Marley grabbed the touchdown. It went unconverted, but fullback Lewis added a penalty 12 minutes later to round of their scoring.
It was Whitland who had the final say, though, when some three minutes from the end, flanker Henry Boot scored a try which outside-half Jonathan Thomas converted, to leave the final score 32 points to 18 to Llanharan.
