The Senior Cup got underway for a select few teams last weekend as the preliminary matches took place before the first round starts in earnest.

Pendine are through after a potential banana skin against Llangwm after producing a fine performance in a 3-1 win.

Craig Hurst got on the scoresheet first for the Gulls, before Ricky Hunt and Adam Newell put the game beyond doubt, paving the way for potential cup glory.

St. Florence were another team in action, but their cup campaign fell at the first hurdle as they were bundled out by Hubberston, with the visitors winning 6-3.

Hot shot striker Ashley Smith led the way for the Saints with a well-taken brace as Jack Smith netted the other in a demoralising defeat.

In division one, early pace-setters Narberth made the trip down to the Observatory to take on Hakin United.

The Vikings are currently the second placed team, just three points behind the Bluebirds with one game in hand. At this early stage of the season it was already a proverbial six-pointer, but the result proved there is nothing between the teams as they tied 1-1.

Dorian Davies got the all-important goal for the away side, which must feel like a victory of sorts given the Obs is no easy place in which to play football.

St. Clears were at Pennar Robins looking to bounce back after last week's defeat against Tenby, and bounce back they certainly did as they drew 3-3 against the home side.

Saundersfoot Sports entertained St. Ishmaels, with the game ending in a draw. The 1-1 result was a good reflection of the teams as Richard Cope scored the home team's goal.

Tenby also drew, their third of the season, as their game against West Dragons ended 2-2.

Jordan Richards was on target for the home side, scoring the first from a well-taken penalty, with Billy Vaughan grabbing the other.

Carew secured their second win of the season after beating Milford Athletic 2-1 at home. Alex Bailey and James Hinchliffe were the men to score for the home side

Kilgetty entertained Fishguard Sports at Kingsmoor, but home advantage failed to count as they lost 1-0, while Narberth seconds hosted Clarbeston Road, with the game ending tied 2-2, with Callum O'Connell and Dylan Davies scoring for the home side.

Tenby seconds travelled to Lamphey and won 3-2, while Manorbier United won their first game of the season (thus climbing off the foot of the table) after a home triumph against Lawrenny.

United won 4-1 as Ben Hall scored twice followed by goals from Neil Lane and Joe McKeown. Matt Lewis scored the visitors' solitary goal.

Saundersfoot seconds had a day to forget after a 7-1 thrashing at Monkton, with Jason Bridges scoring for the visitors, while St. Clears' seconds drew their home clash against Carew seconds after it ended 1-1, with Marc Snelling grabbing the home team's goal and Harry Ryan equalising for the visitors.

Kilgetty seconds would have wished for a draw as they were hammered 7-2 at Angle, despite Josh Lewis's brace, while Narberth thirds lost 2-1 at home to Letterston, with Jordan Howell netting the only goal for the home side.

Carew thirds made it a good weekend for the club as they notched up their second win of the season after beating Haverfordwest Cricket Club 2-1

Lloyd Hughes and Luke Burrows scored for the victors and Lawrenny seconds had cause for celebration after James Durbridge's goal was the difference between them and Broad Haven as they secured a 1-0 win.
