Saundersfoot Sea Angling Club held a six-hour Rover on Saturday, April 7, sponsored by Roy Morell, of Pembrokeshire Scaffolding. A total of 15 anglers competed in calm conditions, flat sea with a 10 mph northerly breeze. A total of 11 competitors brought fish to the scales.

Results were: 1. Chris Watkins with a good LSD of 1.038Kg (£100, Pembrokeshire Scaffolding Shield and 10 points); 2. Mike Williams with a bag of 1.779Kg (£50 and eight points); 3. Franco Attanasio with a bag of 1.433Kg (£25 and six points); 4. Andrew Jones with a bag of 1.411Kg ( four points).

The Golden Peg number drawn was 15, that of George Berritt who didn't trouble the scorers.

Forthcoming matches: Sunday, April 22 - six-hour Rover, SWASSAC points with Club minimum length. Sign-on at Kilgetty TIC by noon, fishing from 1-7 pm. Weigh-in at the sports club, with scales closing 8 pm prompt.

Sunday, May 6 - Pendine Beach. No vehicular access to the beach. Sign-on at the car park by 1.15 pm, fishing 2- 6 pm, weigh-in at The Old Chemist by 7 pm latest.

Sunday, May 20 - Ginst Point, sponsor TBC. Sign-on at Ginst car park by 1 pm, fishing 2-6 pm with the weigh-in at Sandyhill Cafe by 7 pm latest.

Please note - all matches have reverted to single rod unless notified otherwise. Take all safety precautions, especially when fishing rock marks. It is SSAC policy that all rovers must be fished in pairs or more, never alone. If targeting larger species, please ensure that you have access to an accurate set of scales and a camera to record the fish if it is to be released immediately.
