With the 2026 Cheltenham Festival starting today, Pembrokeshire's Sean and James Bowen have been named among the highest-earning jockeys in horse racing.
The team at OLBG have revealed which current top 10 names in the Jockeys’ Championship have accumulated the highest career prize money - Sam Twiston-Davies tops the rankings, with earnings of over £23.6m.
Sean Bowen is at number 5 with £14,716,227.09; and James in 8th place with £7,166,150.91.
Sean and fellow Welsh rider Ben Jones are set to go head-to-head in jump racing’s most prestigious race on Friday when they line up in the Gold Cup - the showpiece event on the final day of the Cheltenham Festival.
In what is believed to be the first time in living memory, two Welsh jockeys will ride leading contenders in the famous race.
Champion jockey Bowen will partner Haiti Couleurs, the Welsh Grand National winner trained in Pembrokeshire, by leading trainer Rebecca Curtis.
