Described as the perfect marriage of a ‘crazy event and crazy people’ the Narberth Nobbler racing event took place on the weekend, with some very muddy competitors coming through the challenge.

“The conditions on the weekend were horrendous but people turned up with smiles on their faces,” said Tim Plumb one of the race directors.

“This year we capped the event to 500 runners. We are raising the maximum number of runners slowly each year.

“The most important thing for us is that runners enjoy their experience with Nobbler events and it doesn’t become over crowded in the woods.

“It was slightly surreal sending people off into the woods with Elvis singing at the top of his voice, but oddly it seemed fitting!

“We have to thank all the people who helped us run the event, we rely heavily on volunteer support for the event to take place.

“The marshals in the woods endured some seriously bad weather in order to help runners complete their challenge.

“We had help from many local people including a strong team from the Narberth Scouts group.

“We’d also like to thank Clifton Coffee Roasters for supplying amazing coffee to our runners and marshals "

“We’re back for another event on November 24, a 10km trail run in the dark - yes, another crazy event, but we already have 100 people entered,” he added.
