I'm glad I put the apology in last week folks! I did miss reporting on a game played on Saturday last.
Our Raymond Lillicrop and Ben Sheldon were up against a strong pair from Bro Myrddin in the semi-finals of the junior Welsh pairs competition. Cameron White and Joshua Hancock finished up the eventual winners, 14 shots to 11. As the score shows, it was a very close game. Well done to all the lads.
On Sunday, our ladies travelled to the Meads for our final friendly game. An afternoon of bowling, followed by refreshments provided by the Meads ladies, with Heatherton winning on two rinks and the Meads on two. It was the perfect ending to a lovely afternoon.
Our last league games take place today (Friday), with our tournament finals starting tomorrow. Good luck to all those taking part.
COMING UP!
Lists are on the ladies notice board for next season's national competitions. These must be sent before the end of next week, so please enter your details now!
Good luck also goes to Charles Davies and co., who play the second round of the Welsh open rinks competition at Islwyn on Sunday.
Next Friday (March 28), we have four of our ladies travelling to Dinefwr to play for the WLIBA president. Christine Harris, Penny Brickle, Collette Bethwaite and Viv Kerrison are sure to have a lovely day.
Next Saturday, we have four gents, Ian Evans, Brian Deeley, Eric Dezille and John Haigh, travelling to Llanelli to play for the WIBA president. They, too, are sure of a great day.
Would all members please note that our presentation evening is to take place on Wednesday, April 2, 7 for 7.30 pm. Notices are up on the boards in the club.
Please also note that our next season's team sheets are filling up fast, so please get your names in asap. If anyone wishes to join a team, they must remember to ask members of that team first!
We have a list of 'floaters' for next season. This would be made up of members who do not want to play in regular teams, but would be prepared to play as 'sub' as and when required. If this would be more to your liking, then please enter your details on the list on the board.
