A successful raffle and auction was held at Tenby Golf Club recently with £4,000 raised for Epilepsy Wales, in memory of a former captain.
As readers of the Observer will be aware, Tenby GC Captain, Charlie Dredge, passed away suddenly last April.
Charlie had chosen Epilepsy Wales as his charity for the year in memory of his nephew Matt who tragically passed away aged just 25 years.
Charlie’s widow Diana wished to continue with the scheduled Charity Golf Day which was held on the Tenby links last Friday. 23 teams of four golfers took part.
Acting Captain Mike Seal, president Idwal David, Alan Sayers and Dave Henry were the winning quartet.
Runners up were Darren Thomas, Steve Maytum, Jeremy Morris and Meirion Griffiths who were sponsored by Maxilla Packaging.
In third place were the Wise Building Maintenance team of Gareth Rees, Rob Hall, Peter Nixon and Simon Jones.
Valero B topped the visitors’ section – David Alderman, Rob Hayward, Dave Williams and Nick Gregg.
The Jeffreyston Inn side were second – Viv John, Dean Kenniford, Mark Huxtable and Paul Heywood.
In third place were the ABM Group – Mike Davies, Delwyn Lewis, Viv Halbert and Ian Sharma.
Together with a successful raffle and auction, Diana was pleased to announce that circa £4,000 was raised for Epilepsy Wales, a worthwhile charity which was very close to Charlie’s heart.
