On August 19, the Tenby team travelled to Penrhos Golf Club for their penultimate Dyfed League match of 2023.

The hilly parkland course in North Ceredigion was in excellent overall condition, the greens in particular.

Unfortunately, the results did not go Tenby’s way!

Andrew Cope and Neil Thomas lost 4 & 3.

Simon Rossiter and Martin Morris won on the 18th hole.

Darren Thomas and Gary McNeilly lost 2 down.

Adam Thorne and Richard Prout lost 3 & 2.

Grant Watkins and Wyndham Collins lost 4 & 3.

Austin Davies and Steve Cole lost 6 & 5.

Dean Rossiter and the up and coming Juan Cruz lost 3 & 2.

Gary McKeown and Gethin Evans lost 4 & 3.

Consequently, Penrhos hammered Tenby by seven games to one.

On Saturday, August 26 Tenby hosted Trefloyne GC in their final League match.

Jack Harries and Andy Cope lost 2 down.

Rhys Davies and Darren Thomas halved.Dave Morris and Steve Sutcliffe were victorious by 4 & 3.

Adam Thorne and Nick Allen won 4 & 3.

Mick Seal and Ian Duke were easy winners by 6 & 5.

Therefore, the match was halved with four games each.

Tenby will hopefully retain their Division 2 status.

However, depending upon the results of the outstanding matches for Glynhir B and Newport Links, it is mathematically possible that they could be relegated.
