Manorbier’s Castle Inn Golf Society visited the links at Tenby for their latest outing. Twelve eager golfers did battle and for once the wind did not blow on what was an unusually calm and lovely day.

Texas Scramble was the format, with three teams of four, each captained by a Tenby member or a former member.

Results were: 1. Steve Maytum, John Drury, George Hislop and Gerald Codd, net 63.2.

2. Rob Hall, Ian Fyles, Kelvin Boughey and Paul Maytum, net 63.8.

3. Simon Jones, Rob Izzard, Geoff Lees and Graham Bond, net 64.5 (wooden spoon).

Graham Bond also won the ‘shot of the day trophy’ for his double shot, first an air shot, then the second effort going 10 yards into the bunker.

Many thanks to all at Tenby for the great hospitality.

It was then back to the Castle Inn for some excellent food supplied by Amber and a well earned drink. .
