After a few weeks of following the rain, the Seasiders had two consecutive matches.
First they faced a stubborn Clarbeston Road away. This was always going to be a difficult as they are hard to break down. From the start, Tenby pushed hard and soon the first came courtesy of the the speedy Dylan Morgan.
A busy time was being given to the Seasiders’ defence, but Ned Davies was having a particularly good match and, along with Charlie Gregory and Callum Karaka, they were standing strong.
Goal number two arrived and yet again it was Dylan Morgan who bagged his brace.
The nerves soon settled as number three was delivered following a run down the left from Archie Smith who provided a lovely ball for the excellent Jack Jones to get on the scoresheet.
The home team got a reward for their efforts and bagged themselves a goal before the half-time whistle.
The second half was pretty much controlled by the Clarby defence, with constant pressure from the Seasiders and just the two goals. Charlie Gregory was taken down in the penalty area and duly obliged from the spot for number four. The fifth and last one of the day came from a great run by Kurt Sarrionandia who supplied a fine ball for Jack Jones for his second of the day.
So 5-1 the final score. Top Joe’s man of the match was Ned Davies..
Last Saturday ,Tenby faced their nearest rivals Hakin United away. These are usually closely fought matches.
The visitors looked sharp from the start and a great team goal soon came when Callum Karaka brought the ball from the backline, linked up with Archie Smith, who crossed to Dylan Morgan for number one.
Rhys Mansell was having a busy time between the sticks and was soon called on with a great save.
Hakin were, however, the next team to score and the match was level, and they would of gone ahead but for another fine save from Rhys.
Charlie Phillips was also having a superb match with strong challenges and distribution of the ball.
Tenby soon regained the advantage with a lovely finish by Archie Smith.
On the half-time whistle there wasn’t much to split the two sides.
The second half saw the Tenby nerves settled. Archie Smith made a run down the left and shot, the Hakin ’keeper made the save, but couldn’t hold on and Kurt Sarrionandia, to his credit, kept his cool to slot home number three.
As for the next, well it was pretty much a carbon copy of the third. Archie tested the Hakin ’keeper again and Kurt bagged number four.
Mike Davies has settled into the Tenby set-up with ease and he made a great strong run and smashed a great shot which just rose over the bar.
The two Charlie’s, Phillips and Gregory, were making a nuisance of themselves and breaking up any attempts from Hakin to create anything.
It was the Seasiders who extended their lead further with a great finish by Archie Smith for number five and soon his finish was matched by Jack Jones with another lovely goal. And he wasn’t finished there, another supply from the left foot of Archie and Jack had his brace for the day and a fine 7-1 win.
Top Joe’s man of the match was Charlie Phillips.
This talented bunch have won every match so far this season. Their next game is away to Fishguard.
