TENBY Under 16 Girls are preparing for an exciting new campaign and have launched a major recruitment drive to strengthen their squad for the 2026–27 season.
The club will host an open training session on Friday, 3 July, from 5.30pm to 7pm on the Greenhill School 3G pitch, inviting U17s, U16s and talented, physically ready U15s to attend.
The coaches are looking for players with some football experience, but they also welcome newcomers who show natural ability and enthusiasm.
With many families seeking alternatives to expensive academy systems — and some players left without active local clubs — Tenby are positioning themselves as a competitive, supportive and accessible option for girls wanting regular football.
The team will again compete in the West Wales Women & Girls League, where they expect to play more than 20 matches next season.
After finishing 5th in their debut year, the coaches are determined to push higher up the table and believe fresh talent will be key to achieving that goal.
Their first season in the league marked a turning point for the club.
After leaving the Pembrokeshire League due to a lack of fixtures, the coaching team made the bold decision to step into a tougher regional competition to secure meaningful football for the girls.
The move revitalised the squad, with performances improving week by week and new signings making an immediate impact. The team’s first league win symbolised how far they had come.
With strong foundations now in place, Tenby are eager to build a deeper, more competitive squad.
Players interested in joining the journey are encouraged to attend the open session, meet the coaches and experience the team’s positive, ambitious environment as preparations for 2026–27 begin.
