FOUR dinghy boats raced in a fresh wind at Tenby Sailing Club on Tuesday June 2nd.

The results were: 1, ILCA6, Ellie Cumpsty; 2, Europe 444, Robin Wood; 3, ILCA7, Steve Leach; 5, RS200 Julian Cumpsty.

Alistair Lindsay was the Race Officer.

Overall results so far for the Midweek Series with five races sailed: 1, Robin Wood; 2, Steve Leach; 3, Julian Cumpsty; 4, Dan Jackson; 5, Steve Stubbs; 6, Lewis Reeves; 7, Peter Rose; 8, Ellie Cumpsty; 9 Dave Griffiths.

The unsettled weather with strong winds and rain prevented any racing for dinghies or cruisers last weekend.

Redwings have been unfortunate, with either too little wind or too much!

Alternatively, much time has been spent preparing the boats for the National Redwing Championships in Looe on July 4-6.

Thanks to Bill, who’s workshop has been invaluable over recent months. Robin Wood did the majority of the work on club Redwing 244 aided by Sailing Captain Julian Cumpsty.

When Alex MacDonald has completed work on R190, seven boats will be able to compete this season.

Next weekend , Tenby Regatta and Round Caldey race on June 13/14 will be one of the highlights of the season.

The very popular events are part of the town’s summer sporting calendar and attract spectators along the harbour and shoreline.
