Saturday saw Tenby U13s travel to Milford in a top-of-the-table clash. With Tenby sitting at the top of the table and Milford in second, the team knew the pressure would be on them from the start and they weren’t wrong.

Tenby won the toss and chose to play up hill and into the wind in the first half. Early pressure on the Tenby defence saw Milford create the first goal and gain a 1-0 lead.

This seemed to create some urgency in the Tenby team and they soon started to mount their own pressure, being camped in the Milford half, but despite several chances, Milford remained strong.

However, Tenby kept the pressure on and Max eventually levelled the score just before half-time.

So some stern words from coaches Angie and Luke, and with the wind now in their favour, the second half was a different story. Tenby played some lovely football, with accurate passing and strong defence, and soon created more chances, with Max bringing the scoreline to 2-1 in their favour, quickly followed by a third.

With the gap widening, Tenby were more confident in open play and when another chance was created, Toby found the back of the net.

With the final whistle in sight, Milford were not beaten yet and some strong attacking play from them created their second goal of the game to make the final score 4-2.

This week was a very cold game at home against Milford Athletic.

Another well matched team with some great skill and goals. The boys came away with a win 6-0
