KILGETTY AFC Women battled to a hard-fought win against a determined Milford Athletic Ladies on Sunday, writes Sharron Stokieshazer Hardwick.

Despite several chances created the first half remained goalless, but four minutes into the second half Sam Richards opened up for Kilgetty AFC, with an assist by Becky Flaherty.

The Milford defence stood their ground, and they rattled the woodwork and almost scoring towards the end of the second half but Kilgetty keeper Bryony Davies denied the hard-working home team.

Kilgetty striker Cara Evans made it 2-0 in the 93rd minute and Sam Richards secured the win moments later.

Both teams worked tirelessly in what was a tough battling match and credit was given to the home side for their determination and hard work.

Kilgetty AFC Women voted Milford number 10, Danielle Hillier, the home player of the match, with captain Maisie Sherratt selecting Cat Evans as Kilgetty AFC player of the match.

The team also congratulated Jemma Williams on her cracking Kilgetty AFC debut.

Milford chose Sam Richards as their player of the match.
