HAVERFORDWEST County manager Tony Pennock has been shortlisted for the JD Cymru Premier December Manager of the Month award, while midfielder Corey Shephard has been nominated for the Player of the Month honour.
Winners will be decided through a combination of the fans’ vote, a league panel, and an independent panel.
An unbeaten December eased relegation concerns for the Bluebirds, with Pennock’s side collecting eight points from four matches.
Hard‑earned away draws at Flint Town United and Cardiff Met were backed up by a superb 2–0 win at Bala Town and a convincing 3–0 home victory over Llanelli Town.
Pennock is joined on the managerial shortlist by John Disney of Connah’s Quay Nomads and Steve Jenkins of Barry Town United.
Connah’s Quay enjoyed a flawless month, beating Colwyn Bay, Briton Ferry Llansawel, and Flint Town United before sealing a huge 3–1 win over league leaders and championsThe New Saints on New Year’s Eve.
That result extended their winning run to eight matches and cut the gap at the top to four points.
Barry Town United also strengthened their push for a top‑six finish, following a 1–1 draw at Penybont with a vital 1–0 home win over Cardiff Met.
Shephard faces competition from Harry Franklin (Connah’s Quay Nomads) and Ben Margeston (Barry Town United) for the player award.
Shephard’s influence was clear throughout December, scoring two crucial goals—including a stunning goal of the season contender from the halfway line in the win at Bala Town — before adding another in the victory over Llanelli.
Franklin’s nomination comes after a standout month in which he contributed five goals and two assists for the in‑form Nomads.
Barry defender Margeston is recognised for scoring the decisive goal in their important win over Cardiff Met.
