HAVERFORDWEST County have bolstered their backroom team ahead of the 2026-27 season with the appointment of Harry Thomas to the club’s first-team coaching staff.
Thomas, who rejoined the Bluebirds in July 2024 as community manager, moves into senior football coaching for the first time after progressing through the club’s academy setup. His promotion follows the recent completion of both his UEFA A Licence and Elite Youth A Licence through the Football Association of Wales.
The 2026-27 campaign will see Thomas take on a hands-on role with the first team, contributing on matchdays and throughout the week as part of the club’s evolving hybrid model. The system allows a group of players to train on a full-time basis, with Thomas playing a key role in supporting their development.
Despite his step up to the senior environment, Thomas will maintain strong links across the club. He is set to continue his work within the academy while also overseeing a community programme that has expanded significantly in recent years, reinforcing the club’s presence in the local area.
Speaking about the move, Thomas described the opportunity as a major milestone, highlighting his ambition to work at first-team level and his enjoyment at building relationships within the squad.
Manager Tony Pennock welcomed the appointment, praising Thomas’ commitment to his coaching development and emphasising the value he will bring to the existing staff. He added that Thomas’ input will be vital in helping deliver a consistent and well-planned weekly programme for players across the squad.
