Carew's season of woe continued with a four wickets defeat by Llangwm in the semi-final of the Duggie Morris Cup at Lamphey Cricket Club.
In a low scoring match, Carew reached 111-6 in their allotted 20 overs. Adam Chandler held things together in a battling innings of 43no, supported by Ian Sefton with 20. James Venables, Matthew Kiff, Richard Brock and Andrew Harries each picked up a wicket economically.
In reply, Llangwm got to 115-6 with four balls to spare in a tight contest, where the Carew bowlers gave little away.
William Beresford had a cultured innings of 30 and Joe Kiff batted well in his innings of 27, as paceman Rhys Davies took 3-18 and Martin Scourfield was also on the spot with a return of 2-19.
Middle order batsman David Dunfee was the leading run-getter for Whitland with 38no, supported by left-hander Edward John with 21. Dylan Blain, Scott Newton and Iestyn Scourfield also had useful double figure scores to boost the total.
For Neyland, Ashley Sutton, spinner Andrew Miller and Nick Koomen each picked up a brace of wickets.
An opening stand of 89 between Paul Murray with 67, including three 6s and four 4s and Gregg Miller with a selfless 22, provided the ideal platform for the run chase.
On their departure, Andrew Miller with 23 maintained the run rate, before Patrick Hannon and Nick Koomen knocked of the winning runs in a total of 144-4.
Spinner Scott Newton took 2-25 for Whitland.
Llangwm and Neyland will meet in the final to be played at Burton Cricket Club on Sunday, July 21.
