Steve Blowes is the new secretary of Pembroke County Cricket Club following Billy Marchant's retirement.

Mr. Marchant, an ever present on the executive committee for almost 30 years. stood down at the recent AGM. although he will continue to work behind the scenes as Mr. Blowes settles into the role.

Blowes, a former Metropolitan Police officer, is the current secretary of Camrose and Spittal Cricket Club.

Maurice Cole's tenure of club president after a period of five years ends, too, as he is replaced by popular umpire Dave Morris. There were no other movements on the executive committee.

The recession took its toll on the way clubs voted for a number of proposals concerning the increase in the amount of fines paid for transgressions.

A number of proposals were forwarded by executive members to act as a deterrent for clubs failing to heed requests such as filling in team sheets correctly or handing result cards in on time.

Regular offenders could have faced fines of up to £50 should they fail to meet deadlines, yet the clubs voted against such proposals.

Elsewhere all senior cup semi-finals will now be played on neutral grounds. This proposal went through without much debate. Currently, the only cup where neutral venues are considered for a semi-final is the Harrison-Allen Bowl.
