Tenby Bowling Club ladies’ ‘five-star’ catering team raised £556 from a series of daily raffles during Gold Cup week and the Valero weekend for Bloodwise.
Thanks are extended to all who donated raffle prizes, with a special thank you to Yvonne at The Lounge Coffee Bar for her generous contribution.
Pictured, left to right, are Meryl Cooke, Jan Lloyd, Carol Lloyd, Chris Brace, Jean Lloyd (who was the driving force behind selling the tickets) and Liz Rees.
Chris was delighted to receive this donation as it took the total amount raised so far to above £9,000.
“These lovely ladies worked so hard to raise a fantastic amount of money and on behalf of Simon, the Bloodwise charity and myself, thank you all so very much,” he said.
If you want to know more about Chris’s fundraising efforts for the Bloodwise charity or to sponsor him for this Sunday’s Ironnan Wales event, please visit www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Chris-Brace1 or you can text a donation to 70070 using the code NIFF90, including the amount you want to donate from £1 upwards.
Bonus Ball
The winner of last Saturday’s bonus ball was Hayley, with number two. Well done.
Meeting
The ladies will be holding a meeting on Wednesday, September 21, at 10 am, downstairs in the pavilion. Please make every effort to attend, thank you.
St. Issell’s 0 pts. Tenby Arches 6
The Tenby girls travelled the short distance to Saundersfoot last week to play their final game of the season. A win was needed to consolidate third position and that’s just what they got, winning by 52 shots to 26.
The outcome on Alison’s rink was never in doubt, winning by 27 shots to 14, with Lynn, Liz and Jo all contributing to the 13-shot victory.
Helen’s rink also had a comfortable win by 25 shots to 12, again this was a team effort with Margaret, Carol and Jan all playing their part.
The long season ended for the Arches ladies by winning 16 of the 22 games, with only Alison playing all the matches.
Captain Carol would like to thank vice-captain Helen and all the ladies, and young Katie, who played this season, along with those ladies who retired this year, but continued to support the girls from the benches. Finally, a very big thank you to Tenby House Hotel for their generous sponsorship.
