Pictured in front of the new level crossing barriers at Whitland are Clr. Barry Chapman, the Mayor of Whitland, and Clr. Richard Davies the town’s Deputy Mayor, together with the team who carried out the work.

The new barriers are DDA compliant and the crossing has been brought up to the latest standards after a number of decades. 

The team from VolkerRail and Network Rail who managed the works included Mr. Simon Roberts, the programme manager for Network Rail, and Mr. Daniel Ogden, of VolkerRail. 

“I am relieved this major work has been completed promptly, and the painting of the signal box is a bonus that improves the whole look of the train station,” said County Councillor for Whitland, Sue Allen, who also sits on the town council.

Network Rail and VolkerRail wish to thank the residents and businesses for their patience and co-operation over the last few weeks.
