The Great Bake-Off comes to St. Issell’s Church on Saturday, February 18, and the entries are now beginning to come in. Saturday, February 11, is the closing date for entries, so there’s a short time left to enter. The categories are puddings, savoury bread, celebratory cake and biscuits for adults, and for children, decorated cupcake.
Entry is free, but all the wonderful baking is to be donated to the afternoon tea which begins at 12 noon and the cost for people partaking is £5. The winner of the competition will be announced at 2 pm.
So far, it seems that the majority of the people entering the Bake-Off are men, therefore ladies the challenge is on to see who is the best baker around.
If you would like to enter, please contact Hannah on 01646 651189 or visit the St. Issell’s Church Facebook page for further details.
Proceeds from the afternoon tea are for the weekly running costs of St. Issell’s Church and St. Elidyr’s in Amroth. You are very welcome to join us for afternoon tea in the beautiful surroundings of St. Issell’s Church.
Our services for the coming week are Sung Eucharist on Sunday morning at 10.30 am, evensong at 5.30 pm and on Wednesday Said Eucharist at 10 am. A warm welcome will await you.
Please look out for details of two new ventures in our church. On Sunday, February 19, at 5 pm, we are holding the first of a series of healing and wholeness services and towards the end of the month we begin our new playgroup for mums, dads, in fact anyone who looks after a pre-school age little person. This will be held on Tuesday mornings in the church, so watch this space!
