SUMMERHILL WI’s festive evening started with a marvellous chip supper.

After this, president Marlene continued with the evening’s business. Apologies were noted and birthday greetings given to Belinda who celebrated that day.

Marilyn and Belinda had attended the Federation ACM and had both thoroughly enjoyed the day. Belinda had a very good time at the craft day at WI House and produced two Christmas-themed items.

The Christmas Dinner at The New Inn, Amroth had proved to be an excellent evening with plenty of food available.

Upcoming events were discussed and the Federation Letter read before the correspondence was dealt with and the financial statement given. Members were reminded to read the 2026 Resolutions as they would need to make their choice in January.

Members then returned to festivities with desserts and mulled wine served. “Pick a Pot” lucky dips were chosen and Christmas Greetings pinned on the tree, both of these resulted in £78.60 being collected which will be donated to Narberth Food Bank.

Pam read a beautiful Christmas poem before members sang a medley of Christmas songs and carols. The raffle was drawn with the following results: Ann Platt – Wine; Pam Gibson – Poinsettia; Sue Hill – sweets; Linda Brown – WI Calendar.

Teas were served with members completing a short quiz before each received their Christmas gift and what a wonderful selection there was. The evening closed with best wishes for a Happy Christmas to all.

The next meeting will be on January 12, with hostesses Dawn, Belinda and Sue Cale, when there will be a talk by Chiropractor Stephen Fellows.
