AN Information Drop-In event regarding the new Pembroke Dock Banking Hub took place at the town’s library on Thursday, May 28.

Mayor of Pembroke Jonathan Grimes (County Councillor for Pembroke St Mary South & Monkton) and Ceredigion-Penfro MS Paul Davies met Debbie Crow from Cash Access UK to hear more about this development for Pembroke Dock and the surrounding communities.

Councillor Grimes said: “It was great to see the progress being made on the temporary hub, which will be located inside the library and is expected to open within the next week or so.

“At present, it looks as though NatWest, Lloyds and Barclays will each be represented at the hub on one of the five opening days each week, with other banks still to be confirmed. On these dedicated days, bank staff will be available to offer advice and help with specific queries.

“Importantly, regardless of who you bank with, the hub will allow customers to carry out everyday banking transactions.

“Cash Access UK are still finalising the location of the permanent Banking Hub, which is expected to open within the next 12 months. From what we saw today, the temporary hub already looks fantastic and will be a really valuable addition for the community.”

Mr Davies added: “Customers of all major banks will be able to access a wide range of personal and business banking services, with the hub operating Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

“The opening of the Banking Hub comes after a huge amount of hard work from Samuel Kurtz, Pembroke Dock Town Council and the local community. It will be fantastic to see the Banking Hub up and running in the very near future.”
