A GRANDFATHER from Pembroke Dock has been fined, but not disqualified from driving, after speeding on the motorway.
At Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on May 26, 55-year-old Jaguar driver Leighton Barrass pleaded guilty to exceeding the 70mph speed limit on the M50 on four separate dates in 2025.
He was not disqualified, owing to mitigating circumstances: the impact that a disqualification would have on his earnings and those who rely on them, and the impact it would have on his ability to drive those who rely on him to drive them - his daughters, grandchildren and partners.
Barrass was fined £400 for each incident and his driving record endorsed with 14 penalty points in total.
A surcharge of £640 was added to costs £85.
