‘Happy Days, A New Musical’ hits Tenby’s De Valence Pavilion next week!
Goodbye grey skies, hello blue! Based on the hit Paramount Pictures television series, Happy Days, A New Musical arrives in Tenby next week! DO Theatre Productions are bringing this family-friendly show to the De Valence Pavilion from Thursday, June 29 - Saturday, July 1.
Happy days are here again, as the production brings back a whole host of well-known ’70s and ’80s characters, with Richie, Potsie, Ralph Malph and the unforgettable ‘king of cool’, The Fonz, gracing the stage. It also reintroduces one of America’s best-loved families, the Cunninghams - yes, Howard, Marion and Joanie are here too - to a whole new generation of kids and parents.
DO Theatre Productions are the county’s newest amateur theatre group, set up by former Radio Pembrokeshire Breakfast presenter Ollie Cole, and his former directing partner at Saundersfoot Footlights, Dai Jones. Ahead of opening the doors to the group’s first show, Ollie told the Tenby Observer that producing this musical has been “a really exciting experience, where we’ve been able to bring together an amazing array of the county’s talent, from our production team, to those treading the boards.
“This musical has never been put on in Pembrokeshire,” he added, “so it’s going to be fun, fresh, full of energy and just the right piece to bring musical theatre back to this amazing venue in the heart of Tenby.”
Happy Days, A New Musical runs at the De Valence Pavilion from Thursday, June 29, to Saturday, July 1, with performances every evening, plus a matinee on the Saturday. Tickets are available from the De Valence Pavilion and Dales Music Store in Tenby, plus Walk on Water in Saundersfoot and Tenby.
