Elly’s Ward 10 Flag Appeal has reached the amazing milestone of £75,000 raised to help cancer patients on Ward 10 at Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest. Elly’s Appeal is raising funds for patient experience and environment on the ward.

Team Elly want to say a very big thank you to all the Pembrokeshire people and businesses who have donated.

Elly’s dad, Lyn, said: “We are amazed and humbled by the support we have received from inside and outside of Pembrokeshire. Cancer touches everyone in some way and we are trying our best as a small family to make a real difference to cancer services in the county.”

He went on to say: “Hywel Dda Health Board are preparing a business case to go to the Welsh Assembly Government for assistance to fully refurbish Ward 10, but there are many things that cancer patients need now to help improve their circumstances and dignity etc. Following the completion of the new cancer day unit, which is amazing, we need a new cutting edge facility for cancer inpatients and health board management have promised this will be delivered.

“We would please ask local people and local businesses to continue to show their support for cancer services in Pembrokeshire and ask you to consider donating to Elly’s Ward 10 Flag Appeal. The more support we can get and the more likes on the Ward 10 Flag Facebook page shows the Health Board that local people support and want the best cancer services for Pembrokeshire. We would love to get to £100,000, but that seems a long way away!
