The annual dinner of the Cresselly and District branch of the Royal British Legion was held in the Cartwheel, Amroth, on Wednesday, March 17, when over 60 members and friends sat down to a wonderful meal.

During the evening, branch chairman, Mr. George Davies, thanked all officers and members who had served the branch so faithfully over the past year. He gave special thanks to Mrs. Vera James, Mrs. Ria Edwards and Mrs. Gillian Morgan, who were retiring after many years of faithful service as Poppy Appeal collectors.

A great evening of friendship and enjoyment was brought to a close with songs from the last war, led by Mr. Colin Clarke and Mrs. Val Evans.

The next branch meeting will be held in the Carew Methodist Youth Centre on Wednesday, April 21, at 7.30 pm, when the speaker will be Mr. David James, who will give the second part of his lecture, on Japan's links with the Pembroke Dock dockyard during the 1914-1918 war.

A warm invitation is extended to members old and new.
