A 13-year-old girl has appeared in court this morning charged with three counts of attempted murder following a stabbing incident at a Carmarthenshire School on Wednesday.

The defendant (who cannot be named) appeared at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court this morning, in connection to the incident at Ysgol Dyffryn Aman on April 24, where two teachers and a teenage pupil were taken to hospital with stab wounds.

The 13-year-old was charged with three counts of attempted murder, and one count of possession of a bladed article in a public place.

No pleas were entered, and she was remanded until a future court hearing.

“Criminal proceedings are active in respect of this case, and we ask members of the community not to speculate or comment on the circumstances,” said a spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police.

All three victims have now been discharged from hospital, having been treated for knife injuries.
