‘Love Saundersfoot’ - the group set up to oversee organising events for the seaside village has a new chairman.

James Bennett has stepped down from his role as Chairman of Saundersfoot Events Group CIC (also known as Love Saundersfoot). During his time as Chair, James led on the Christmas Trees and Village Lights project, helping to deliver a much-loved festive focal point for the village.

Alongside this, as a committee, Saundersfoot Events Group CIC has successfully delivered a number of major events including Big Bang Weekend, the Halloween Trail, and the New Year’s Eve Fireworks.

“We would like to thank James for his contribution during this important period and wish him all the very best for the future,” Love Saundersfoot shared.

“We are pleased to announce that Phil Baker has been appointed as the new Chairman.”

Phil will be well known to many in the community and brings a wealth of relevant experience to the role; with his background including: being a former Saundersfoot Community Councillor, and County Councillor for the village; a founder member of Saundersfoot Chamber of Tourism; as well as previously having a role on the Harbour Commission.

Phil said: “I am delighted to have been considered to become the new Chair of Love Saundersfoot. As a founder member of the Chamber, I have been amazed by the success of the events delivered in such a short time.

“The hard-working, dynamic committee, led by a committed events team, has delivered the Christmas Lights, Big Bang Weekend, the Lantern Parade, and the New Year’s Eve celebration.I look forward to working with other groups, organisations, and charities to help build even bigger and better events for Saundersfoot.”

Saundersfoot Events Group CIC looks forward to the next chapter under Phil’s chairmanship as the team continues to deliver vibrant, inclusive events for the community.
