The building situated at Deer Park/Warren Street has been empty since Royal Mail relocated their delivery operations in Tenby to a purpose-built delivery office in Narberth back in 2019; whilst the Post Office store also moved last year to a new premises on South Parade.
Speaking at Tuesday night’s remote meeting of Tenby town council, Clr. Mike Evans told his colleagues that he had heard that the site was going to be marketed soon, and felt that it was the ideal time for councillors to start to express their vision as to what they would like to see developed on the land, using the example of the Delphi apartments on South Parade, which feature flats and retail outlets below, as a possible consideration.
Clr. Evans said that he felt that whatever development goes ahead, should hold the best interests of the town, with the area being on one of the main gateways into Tenby.
He also felt that it was an opportunity for those marketing the site to look to tidy the area up.
