After a record summer, Caldey Island says it has made the difficult decision to close for the remainder of the 2026 season.

A spokesperson for the Monastic Island off Tenby shared: “With the weather forecast for October looking particularly challenging, we feel it is the right decision to bring the season to a close a little earlier than usual. We would like to thank everyone who has visited the island this season.

“Whether you came for a day trip, a retreat, supported our island through our online shop, or simply followed our journey from afar, your support means so much to us.

“It has been a record-breaking season with the island being open for 64 days in a row throughout July and August - the longest consecutive run in Caldey’s history!

“Thank you for a wonderful season. We look forward to seeing you all again in 2027,” they added.
