Pembrokeshire Housing was delighted to have supported what was the winning entry by the Vineyard Vale Community Group in the tenant and residents group participation category of a national competition, organised by the Tenant Participation Advisory Service (TPAS) Cymru. The group comprises Pembrokeshire Housing tenants and owner occupiers living at Vineyard Vale, Pentlepoir. By working together, the group ensures that everyone, both young and old, enjoys where they live and feels part of a vibrant community. The group has held many and varied events, including Jubilee celebrations with raffle prizes that included a week's holiday, Harvest Festival baskets for all senior citizens, Neighbourhood Watch Scheme, lucky bonus ball competition, visits to Oakwood, Folly Farm, Longleat and the Welsh Heritage Village in Cardiff and a monthly newsletter, which publishes the events and personal celebrations. Pictured are some of the dedicated, hard-working committee of 16 residents who have shown what can be achieved by working together for the benefit of their local community. Pembrokeshire Housing supports residents and community groups within its estates and anyone interested in setting-up a residents group should contact the Housing Department on 01437 763688.
