AS part of Qatar UK 2013 Year of Culture, celebrated UK artist Ben Barbour arrived into South Hook Terminal, Milford Haven, last Friday, having completed a 20-day nautical voyage tracing the symbolic Qatari pearl trade route.

Throughout the voyage, Ben has recorded and illustrated his journey through his impressive artwork which captures the essence of the trip from Qatar.

Whilst in Wales, Ben will begin a collaborative art project with Welsh artist Bryan Thomas, who lectures in Fine Art at Trinity St David's.

Ben and Bryan will work together to turn the designs produced on the trip into ceramics, inspired by 18th century Welsh porcelain and incorporating innovative modern techniques and technology.
