The Pembroke Dock lantern parade is organised by Lanterns in the Park, and this year was funded by Pembroke Dock Town Council along with Pembroke Dock Cricket Club and Milford Haven Port Authority.

101 small lanterns were made during a weekend of community workshops run by Sand Palace Arts and they also created the large lanterns with a sea theme. You can see more images on the ‘Lanterns in the Park’ Facebook page or at www.sandpalacearts.org.uk

Pembroke Dock was blessed with still and calm weather on Friday night as the town’s Youth Centre and Memorial Park saw a wonderful procession of lanterns, with Samba Doc and a fire show by Pembrokeshire Fire Spinners adding to the party atmosphere.

Father Christmas himself took time out from his busy schedule to lead the parade and listen to what presents the little (and not so little) ones want for Christmas!

Through their Facebook page, Pembroke Dock Town Council thanked fellow sponsors Valero, MHPA and Pembroke Dock Cricket Club along with everyone who took part in the event:

“Amazing evening at the lantern parade! Thank you to everyone who attended and made the evening a success. Special thanks go to Santa; Sand Palace Arts for the fantastic lanterns... Liz, Sarah and volunteers, Samba Doc and Pembrokeshire fire spinners for keeping the crowds entertained and not forgetting Rob Conroy for the tasty burgers!”
